A Childlike Faith

Go back. Remember that tiny girl playing barefoot in the summer sun. She had no worries. Her innocent heart did not fear. Be her again.

It’s so easy to give into fear. We fear the unknown. We fear change. We fear being alone.

Children, however, don’t seem to fear at all. They run headfirst into whatever is in front of them without giving it a second thought.

What if we went through life with that same approach, except knowing in whom we put our trust? What if we ran headfirst to God rather than drowning ourselves in worry, doubt, and fear? What if we, much like a child’s confidence in their parents to tend to their every need, trusted God in the same way?

A child’s trusting adoration for their caregiver, and for life in general, is the exact approach we should take to God. We should go humbly before him, casting our every care, and trusting him to fulfill our every need.

Matthew 18:2-4 says, “And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
