Happy Anniversary, 2019

8 years of marriage doesn’t sound like a long time but we sure have learned a lot. We’ve loved, we’ve lost, we’ve cried, we’ve laughed. We’ve experienced heartache and we’ve experienced great joy. God has given us a child and he’s taken one a way. He’s given us blessings freely but he’s also made us work for some. We’ve learned to be patient in the waiting, and faithful in the storm. We haven’t always lived our lives for God but we’ve experienced no greater joy than doing so. God has taught us forgiveness, compassion, and perseverance. So many times we felt like giving up, but so many more times we felt like pushing forward. Marriage isn’t easy, but in our pursuit for God we find it’s worth. We understand its meaning, its purpose, its holiness, and in striving to please God through our marriage, we please each other.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:22-29‬

Happy Anniversary to my dear husband, Josh. I’ll love you forever.
