Peace

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬

Quarantine has given us a whole new perspective on life. We were pretty well quarantined prior to the virus since having a baby in December, (in the middle of flu season), but “officially” being (self) quarantined has actually brought us such peace.

I’m not saying the virus itself has brought us peace, rather, through it, we have found peace.

We’ve prayed more, and worried less. We’ve played more, and stressed less. We’ve read more, and schooled less. We’ve gone outdoors, eaten sweet treats, and laughed more than should be allowed. But most of all, we’ve slowed down.

While the virus has brought sickness and loss, it has reminded us where and who our peace comes from. In times of trouble, God is our refuge.

I pray in the midst of this storm, that each of you are able to find refuge in Christ just as we have. Use this time to slow down, reach out to people you usually don’t talk to, spend time with your loved ones, help in your community, (while still practicing social distancing), and most of, grow closer to God. “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalms‬ ‭91:2
