Planting Seeds

“All the flowers of all the tomorrow’s are in the seeds of today.” -Author Unknown

What seeds are you planting in your children? Seeds of love, encouragement, and Christ-likeness? Or seeds of doubt, fear, and chaos?

Perhaps you’re not intentionally planting ill-willed seeds, and often times it’s not, “intentional.” However, a child’s actions will reflect their environment. If their environment is unstable, so will be their spirit.

Believe me, I know it’s hard, Mama, to hide the heartbreak, the stress, and the chaoses of everyday life, but we have to remember who is watching.

We were entrusted with the gift of motherhood and it is our job to raise these tiny humans to become godly, respectable big humans. So teach them love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance, for these are the fruit of the Spirit. For these “fruits,” will teach them Christ-likeness.

So, Mama, you give your babies the most stable environment you can possibly give them, and then give them God. (And no, I don’t mean God comes second here.) Your circumstances don’t have to be perfect or ideal, in fact they may really stink, but once you’ve done the best you can do, God will take care of the rest. Let him.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. -Proverbs‬ ‭22:6‬
