Train Up A Child

“I have heard of some good old woman in a cottage, who had nothing but a piece of bread and a little water. Lifting up her hands, she said as a blessing, “What! All this, and Christ too?” -Charles Spurgeon

Oh to be like this woman. To seemingly have nothing of the physical, but everything of the spiritual.

To be so consumed by God’s goodness and love that we are able to raise our hands in praise while standing in the midst of a storm.

To give thanks, when we have so little.

To love, when our own being is shattered.

To wake up every morning, despite how much or how little; how bad or how good, giving God glory for it all, is true, undeniable happiness.

I’ve lived with a lot, and I’ve lived with a little, and after years of physical and spiritual unrest, I’ve found that serving a consistent savior consistently, has given me the most.

This is our third year picking blueberries and baking them into all things yummy, but this year, the tradition just meant a little more.
