Far Above Rubies

There’s just nothing like a daughter. I know everyone says “daddy’s girl/mama’s boy,” and she does ADORE her daddy, but she is a Mama’s girl ALL the way!

She is my biggest helper, fan, defender and critic. (Yes, I said critic. She’s overly honest and doesn’t withhold that honesty! 🤪)

Josh asks me all of the time why I’m so hard on her, (our parenting styles are slightly different 🥴), and perhaps I can be “hard” at times, but it’s because I refuse to let the art of femininity, classiness, respectfulness, courageousness, motherly-ness, godliness etc., die with my generation.

Raising a daughter in today’s hyper sexualized world, where you are judged strictly by your appearance and what your body has to offer, is terrifying for Christian mom’s.

Of course we trust God to protect our babes, but it is OUR job to teach them Christian values and how to walk, talk and act like a lady, both in public and behind closed doors. It is OUR job to teach them to keep themselves pure, to save themselves for marriage, and WHY that is so important. We must teach them Christlikeness, and how to live in the fullness of God.

The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” I cling to this scripture as a parent because I know I can’t shelter my children from this world, but I can most assuredly equip them for it.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:10
