Peace of God

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." Col. 3:15

The heart can be misleading, causing our flesh to be in direct conflict with what we know to be true in Christ. How do we let God rule our hearts? We choose peace instead of anger. We choose peace instead of strife and conflict.

I'm not referring to "mind over matter" or "positive vibes," or even an absence of conflict, I'm talking about true peace that only comes from knowing God.

Philippians 4:7 says, "And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

So how do we obtain the peace of God? Through prayer and reading God's word. Through thinking on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and are of good report. (Phil. 4:8)

What are you allowing to enter your mind? Examine your entertainment, whether it be music, television, social media, or even the company you keep. Are they things of virtue? Or could they be the very things disrupting the peace of God in your life?

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." (Isaiah 26:3) We can have perfect peace when we keep our minds on God and our trust in Him
