There's A Story To Be Told

I hardly recognize this person, though I know who she is, or who she used to be.

There's a story to be told behind her weary eyes, and a lifetime of love and loss behind her tired smile.

She constantly searches for purpose to busy her hands and mind. What once filled her days and kept her astir, is no longer. There's an absence that has left a hole in her heart wide enough to swallow the sky.

Though her fire is but an ember, she fights to move forward.

She clings to hope and prays for better days ahead. She knows there's purpose in her pain, and patiently awaits God's plan to unfold.

She's aged beyond what she should, though she's stronger.

She could easily surrender, yet she soldiers on. She's waiting, seeking, and hoping, knowing beauty will come from these ashes.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." 1 Corinthians 15:10
